How this estimate works
A single floor area is insufficient when one side of a room needs more fill than the other. Mark reasonable zones on a sketch and record the average depth in each. The calculation sums area multiplied by depth for every filled zone, then compares that total volume with the volume represented by the product label coverage. A zone with twice the depth requires twice the theoretical volume.
Read both numbers in the coverage statement: area and the depth at which that coverage applies. A claim of 25 square feet at one-quarter inch is not a claim of 25 square feet at a half inch. Enter the label reference depth separately from the depths measured on the floor. The fields can be changed for the exact bag selected.
This is a material quantity estimate, not a floor preparation or pour instruction. Product-specific minimum and maximum thickness, primer, substrate, mixing, and curing rules are outside the arithmetic. Check the current technical sheet before purchasing or pouring. The waste entry covers transfer and surface variation beyond your measured zones, but cannot rescue a badly measured low spot.
Keep a copy of your measurements and the product information used. Recheck both before ordering, especially after a layout or supplier change.
