Calculation method
For one straight net fabric span, mesh rolls are the run divided by entered roll length, rounded up. Interior line posts are ceiling(run ÷ maximum spacing) minus one. End, corner, and gate terminal counts are entered separately; a corner needs two tension bars. Rails, bands, and ties are planning counts based on the entered sizes.
Worked example: inputs to material quantity
A 150 ft straight net mesh span with 50 ft rolls and 10 ft line-post spacing uses 3 rolls and 14 interior line posts. With 10 ft rail pieces, it needs 15 top-rail pieces before cuts or splices. Two end posts are counted separately.
What the estimate covers
All dimensions are user-entered. Round quantities and order sizes against your supplier’s current stock; the page does not design structural, drainage, or suspension systems. The related guide explains each assumption and common measurement mistakes.
